SouthLight is a group of established and well-regarded photographers. Their individual works are published, collected and exhibited throughout the USA and the world. They have come together to form a Salon where an exchange of ideas, techniques, critiques and learning take place. The genesis of the name is an indication that photographic art is alive and well below the Mason-Dixon Line.
A common Artistic Statement binds SouthLight members:
• We participate in a model of art, which is holistic; a meeting of the conscious and unconscious, thought and emotion, spiritual and material, private and public.
• We endeavor to make art that is the visible manifestation, evidence and facilitator of the soul’s journey.
• We make photographs as a quest for authenticity and a plea for the rediscovery of connection.
The SouthLight members are:
Chuck Arlund, Jerry Atnip, Nick Dantona, David Farmerie, Robert McCurley, Jerry Park, Pierre Vreyen
